Description
Sessile-leaf form, representing Aster discolor. [From writing on the sheet itself:] Typical in its small heads, small convex inflorescence, wide-spaced short branches, many broad-winged petioles, many subentire sudsessile enlarged upper caulines; Radicals large, thinnish, ovate-orbicular to quadrate, lightly roughened; Ciliation of radial petioles more pronounced, blephariform, dropping by about May 15; Develops much green, more leaves than most to one root (4 to 5). Very sluggish to blossom; July 17 1910 hundreds of plants in colony; 8 only, in flower; 70 heads in largest; rays 6s. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
