Herbarium specimens are the foundation of understanding the biodiveristy of our planet. However, their most treasured information is often available only to researchers who can visit the Garden’s collection in person. To make these important resources universally accessible, we are in the process of digitizing all of our herbarium specimens and making them available online through the Virtual Herbarium. With 7.8 million specimens in our collection, we cannot accomplish this goal quickly on our own. Fortunately, with the help of volunteers (like you), we are making considerable strides toward completing this historic undertaking!
