    Distribution (from PLANTAE): This family is subcosmopolitan, especially in its genus Triglochin which ranges all over the world with several species in Australia as well as the Mediterranean. Tetroncium and Maundia are endemic in South America, and so is Lilaea, which has now spread over the world.
