Description: Shrub or bush, 0.5-2.5 m. Young stems terete, pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.4-1.1 mm long, internodes longitudinal ridges absent, nodal line absent. Leaves isophyllous; petiole 1.2-2.2 cm long, pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.7-2.1 mm; the blade 6.8-11.3 x 3.4-6.0 cm, ovate-lanceolate, bullate, the apex acuminate, the base acute, the margin bullate and crenulate; secondary veins 3 pairs, including faint marginals, basally, tertiary veins percurrent, quaternary veins percurrent, areoles 0.6-2.0 mm wide, veins flat on the adaxial surface and raised on the abaxial surface; adaxial surface bullate, pubescent with elongated trichomes 1.0-1.5 mm long on the primary and secondary veins; abaxial surface dull greenish brown, pubescent with elongated trichomes 0.4-1.3 mm long, pubescence on the veins as in the surface. Inflorescences a terminal raceme (occassionally axillary bud overtops inflorescence), 8-10 cm long; peduncles terete, pubescent with strigilose trichomes 0.5-1 mm long; bracts caducous; bracteoles 4.1-5.9 x 0.6-1.2 mm, narrowly oblong to oblong-lanceolate, persistent, pubescent with strigilose trichomes as in the inflorescence. Flowers 6-merous, diplostemonous, sessile. Hypanthium 5.7 mm long, campanulate, 1.5-2 mm wide at the torus, external surface pubescent with strigilose trichomes 1.4-3.0 mm. Calyx open in bud, the tube 0.2 mm long at anthesis, the lobes 1.2-1.5 mm long, narrowly triangular, margins ciliate, otherwise glabrous; calyx teethacerose, 2.4-5.2 x 0.3-0.5 mm, pubescent as in the hypanthium. Petals-6, 7.5-8 x 4.5 mm, obovate, white at anthesis (drying pinkish yellow), glabrous, the apex retuse, the base truncate, the margin entire. Stamens dimorphic, antesepalous stamens filament 5.9-6.1 mm long, thecae 5.5 mm long, connective bilobed, prolonged 1.2-1.4 mm [antepetalous stamens filament 5.2-5.5 mm long, thecae 3.6-3.8 mm long, connective bilobed, prolonged 0.5 mm], anthers with 2 locules, basally peltate, opening by 1 upright minute 0.15 mm pore, light brown, glabrous. Ovary 6-locular, 1/4-1/3 inferior, conical, sparse hairs 0.2 mm long, the apex absent a corona; style 6 mm long, white, glabrous; stigma capitate, 0.7 mm wide. Berries 4-6 x 3-4 mm, ovoid, pubescence persistent when mature, calyx persistent.
