Description
Diagnosis: Pileus dry, slightly rugulose to even, yelowish ochre to red brown. Flesh whitish, unchanging. Hyemnophore tubulose, whitish at first soon yellow brown. Stipe dry, typically glabrous, rarely reticulate, streaked or pigmented, white at base. Spore deposit bright yellowish brown. Spores smooth, fusoid. Hymenial cystidia present. Pileipellis a trichodermium of clavate elements forming a hymeniform layer. Clamp connections absent. Some bluish green with hydoxides.

Ectomycorrhiza: Fagaceae, possibly Pinaceae in America. Myrtaceae, Casuarinaceae in Queensland.
Distribution: Eastern North America to southern Colombia, East Asia, Australia, possibly Southeast Asia.
