                                                    Distribution
JF \ Phycotheca Boreali-Americana. Collins, Holden, and Setchell. XLV. Alaria tenuifolia Setchell ad interim. Forming a distinct zone at the junction of the litoral and sublitoral regions, western shores of Amaknak Island, Unalaska Bay, Alaska, June 4, 1899. W. A. SETCHELL & A. A. LAWSON. This species, represented by rather young specimens, occurs along the western coast of North America from Unalaska to Puget’s Sound. It is to be distinguished from the other species of the region by its ecidedly flattened stipe and thin blade, presenting a great contrast to Alaria distributed under XLI in these respects. It is given a Isional name until its affinities can be moi’e accurately determined. W. A. S. COLUMSIi- Annotated ,993_ .v Q, TYPE OF: ÂlAÇUA, TENU» POM A. SrTCtt£U_ tH-. 0/O1V.
