    Terra firme forest; sandy soil; wet along bank, dry upslope; gentle undulations, a few steep slopes.

    Full plant with root pressed; herbaceous; 1-2m. tall; subtending bract of infl. pink with white base; peduncle yellow turning orange. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
