Hfc Y., April, 1888. Dr. C. E. Fairman. Gregarious; peri theeia sunk in the
wood, iùi mm. in diameter; ostiola erumpent through the bark and
strongly compressed; asci clavate-cylindrical, SOù90 x Sù9.% with abun-
^ sLdant paraphyses; sporidia uniseriate, mostly four in an asciis, oblong,
'S ^ rounded at the ends, brown, 3-septale and constricted at the septa, a
little narrower at the lower end, 18ù22 x 8ù8 .fl. This can hardly be L.
acervatum, Karst., which has the peritheeia erumpent in small clusters
(cscspites minutos) and sporidia scarcely constricted.
