Gregarious, superficial, sub-globose, clothed, except the convex-prominent, elliptical, longitudinally cleft ostiolum, with a dense, white, tomentose-squamose, closely adherent coat, so as to resemble Lasiosfhceria ovina (Pers.) Asci clavate, short stipitate, about 60x10^, with abundant filiform para- physes. Sporidia biseriate above, narrowed-oblong-elliptical, ^ or sub-conical, uniseptate and constii^ed, 15-20X4-5 ^ at ^ first hyaline and nucleate, becoming at length pale brown. « On a decaying part of a live tree, Castillo Viejo.
