dis constrictis; cellula terminali obtusa.

*;ow. 1“2 cm. high,branching irregular, below mostly
aiciiotomous, with wide forkings; above partly similar,
partly lateral, patent, often.at a right angle; ultimate
ramuli 1-3 celled, nearly or quite at right'angles, often
secund on the outer side of a recurved branch. Cells below
'0-100 u diam., 2-5 diam. long, cylindrical; in the r&nuli
. u dl^.,2-3 diam. long, somewhat swollen with con-
stricted nodes; terminal cell obtuse. In matted tufts in
tide pools near Frascati Eotel,Jan. 11, 1914, a. B. Hervey.
Type in Oollins herbarium.

. . Growing in similar places to 0. repens, and forming
similar matted tufts, but distinct by the smaller dimensions
ana the lateral, secund, submoniliform ramuli.
