In forest with many Orbignya palms, a secondary forest cut for rice production. Powdery soil.

Description
Palm, ca. 5 m. tall, dbh 28 cm., 16 contemporaneous leaves. Leaves pinnate ca 318 pinnae per side irregularly grouped along the rachis in clusters of 4-7 (8) per side and sett various angles to the rachis. Leaf sheath 51 cm. long x 50 cm. wide at base; petiole 2.4 m. long; rachis 4.9 m. long. [See label for further plant description.]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
