Habitat
Low forest on S. facing side of hill, lower slope only. Shrubby understory. Many trees to 8 m but some emerging to 15 m. Bamboo present. Serpentinitic?.

Description
Herb with woody stem; leaves stiff, erect, mealy textured surface; stem also. Invol. bracts pale yellow-green with red-brown margins. Florets remain enclosed, prob. white; stamens/stigmas exserted. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
