United States of America. Utah. Utah Co. East of Alpine along Tank Canyon in the Wasatch Mountains ca. 4.23 km SSE of the summit (11101) of Box Elder Peak.

Habitat
On ledges of east-facing limestone ourcrop. With Petrophyton, Abies, Jamesia, Cercocarpus, Juniperus & Quercus.

Description
Diffuse shrub to 25 cm tall; leaves opposite, elliptic to obovate, sparsely strigose, to 14 mm long; petals white, to 4 mm long; stamens usually 10, the filaments flat & petal-llike proximally; styles 3, separate to the base; ovary partly inferior, the lower 1/2 fused to the hypanthium. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
