    On ledges of east-facing limestone outcrop. With Petrophyton, Abies, Jamesia, Cercocarpus, Juniperus & Quercus.

  • Description

    Suffrutescent perennials to 30 cm tall; leaves flat, the blades to 20 mm long & 5 mm wide; abaxial leaf surfaces densely white-lanate, contrasting sharply with the green, sparsely floccose adaxial surfaces; peduncles bractless, glabrous; inflorescences strictly monocephalous; involucre lobes ca. 0.5 mm long, erect; flowers cream-colored, glabrous, ca. 2.5 mm long, lacking a stipe-like base. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
