Alt. 625 m. Climbing bamboo forming dense clumps up to 12 m height. Culms thin, ca. 1 cm in diameter, solid and flexible. Culm sheaths persistent or late deciduous with blade first horizontal or curved upright and then bent down- wards. With dense, long, curly oral setae, decurrent along the edges of the sheath. Nodes with a ring of gol- den, silky hairs. Branch complement with several thin branches and one main, longer branch. Initiation of buds is iniravaginal.
