On crumbly limestone cliffs. In Douglas fir forest. Abundant. Brown sandy loam soil, pH ca. 7.8.

Description
Corollas mostly pale red-violet, some pink or pale blue-violet, darker violet at tube base; staminode white; anthers dark red-violet, black with age, abaxial pair ± exserted at mouth; nectar with a sweet fragrance. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
