    "conical at first and 1/4 - 1/3 mm high, at length discoid (1/2 - 3/4 mm) with a dense marginal fringe of straight erect fires enclosing the densely compacted mass of erect ascicular-filiform [illegible] subhyaline 50-60 x about 1u spores with numerous minute sporules interming[?] [illegible]. The above is the dry spec. moist is convex 3/4 - 1 1/4mm gelatinous livid, trans-lucent [illegible] as above - Distinguishing from H. fumosum C&E by its darker color (when dry) and longer spores".
