    Mexico. Jalisco. Reserva Biósfera Sierra de Manantlán (very near--N of--Colima boundary). On SE-facing slopes in head of Arroyo Hondo, 1 km by rd. (0.7 km airline distance) SW of El Terrero on rd. down to El Sauz (Los Sauces), 32 km (airline distance) NW of Colima.

  • Habitat

    Grazed oak forest ("bosque de encino"). Locally abundant in bottom of sinkhole with Rubus adenotrichus, Xylosma flexuosum, Ternstroemia lineata ssp. lineata, Salvia gravida, Senecio angulifolius, S. albonervius, & Cornus excelsa. Locally abundant. Upper slopes on steep W side of Cerro Grande, a massive Cenomanian-U. Cretaceous limestone plateau 18-20 km NW of Colima.

    Shrubs, from 2.1 m tall & 1.5 cm D.B.H. to 3.3 m tall & 6.9 mm [cm?] D.B.H.; cor. white; anths. yellow, drying brown. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
