    Vigorous vine to ca. 5 m. Stem to 1.5 cm. in diameter, soft-woody, with corky bark and lenticels. Crushed foliage ± odorless. Inflorescences few; flowers odorless; corolla and style violet; anthers yellow; fruit red, gathered from the ground. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
