    Natural vegetation is humid montane (cloud) forest, but flats now largely cleared for pasture or disturbed. Marshy disturbed area along a small stream. Scarce. Clay soils on steep volcanic slopes and flats.

    A[n] annual ca. 1 m high; fls. white with yellow anthers. Phenology of specimen: Flower , Fertile.
