Habitat
Secondary (30-40 years old) subtropical semi-deciduous forest, the trees to 15 m. tall, dominated by Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Gallesia integrifolia, Rhamnidium elaeocarpum.

Description
Small tree 6 m. tall, 20 cm. in diam., crown spreading. Several trees seen here, all with large green fruits and no flowers. Fruiting calyx strongly swollen at base; fruit light green, globose but slightly quadrangular in cross section, to 5.4 cm. in diam., juicy within; seeds light brown. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
