    With Artemisia, Stipa, Oryzopsis, Hilaria, Sphaeralcea. Pale gray sandy ± consolidated substrate over red sandy soil.

  • Description

    Perianth white, tubes greenish. Foliage grayish-green. Plants with extensive interconnecting lateral roots, easily broken, connecting to larger "mother" plant, all within about 1 m sq. area, several roots following a crack with a "trail" of smaller plants arising from them. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower, Fruit.

junction with US Hwy 40 (22 air km SW of Vernal),

Pale gray sandy ± consolidated substrate over red sandy
soil, with Artemisia, Stipa, Oryzopsis, Hilaria, Sphaeralcea.
(Also noted in red sandy soil at junction of two highways.)
