Open flat dry meadow surrounded by encroaching Pinus contorta. With Carex, Agoseries, Penstemon, Lupinus, Castilleja, Achillea, Stellaria. Common in lodgepole understory - drier areas. Soft silty pumice soil with rodent hillocks.
