    Open flat dry meadow surrounded by encroaching Pinus contorta. With Carex, Agoseries, Penstemon, Lupinus, Castilleja, Achillea, Stellaria. Common in lodgepole understory - drier areas. Soft silty pumice soil with rodent hillocks.

    Flowers blue-violet (1 individual with pink flowers). Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower, Fruit.
