Elfin Cloud Forest. Ridge-top could forest; Low canopy (4-6 m); heavy rainfall (400+ in/yr); vegetation dominated by small trees (Pandanus patina, Glochidion, Garcinia) covered in epiphytic ferns and mosses; very shallow soil.

Description
Shrub, 3 m tall, common in understory; fruits 4-5 cm dia., bright red, shiny; flowers slightly fleshy, whitish pink calyx; leaves almost sessile, opposite, glabrous.
