Description
"Effused, thin, with whitish subpruinose margin and whitish subiculu; hymenium whitish-buff becoming pale flesh color, subglabrous, becoming rimose; spores elliptic 8x4 µ; cystidia variable, subulate to subcylindrical, commonly tapering slightly from the base to the obtuse apex, 40-100 µ long, by 12-20 µ broad, numberous on the margin, and younger parts of the hymenium." [Note: "This is apparently closely allied to Peniophora Carnea (B. & C.) Cke., from which it differs in the absence of fibrils from the margin, the paler color of the young hymenium and the larger and differently shaped cystidia which are white and give a slightly pruinose appearance to the margin and younger parts of the hymenium.'] [Square brackets and quotation marks transcribed from label].
