Habitat
Steep S-facing slopes leading down to Long Valley. Burnt and grazed areas infested with Bromus tectorum, with recovering Artemisia tridentata/Purshia tridentata scrub. With Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ribes cereum, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus, Eriogonum umbellatum, Hesperostipa comata, Ceanothus velutinus, and common annuals including Mentzelia congesta, Phacelia bicolor, Layia glandulosa. Common in scrub. Soft pumice soil with basaltic outcrops and occasional granitic outcrops.
