    Low, open canopy ridgetop cloud forest. Ridge-top cloud forest. Low canopy (4-6 m). Heavy rainfall (400+ in/yr). Vegetation dominated by small trees and shrubs (Pandanus patina, Glochidion, Garcinia) covered in epiphytic ferns and mosses. Very shallow soil.

    Shrub to 2.5 m tall. Flowers purple, 3 cm across, yellow clawed anthers. Leaves with 3 prominent veins.
