    Note: Annotation Slip from Farlow Herbarium, Harvard University: "This is a PARATYPE of Thaxterogaster subalbidus Smith apud [in] Sing. & Smith, Mandrono 17:24.1963. Identical to HOLOTYPE at FH, but collected on different date. (over) Not same as T. violaceum Sing. which has violet stipe and verrucose spores. The HOLO. and PARATYPES of T. subalbidus have white stipes and only minutely roughened spores. By R.E. Halling 12 Nov, 1980"
