Windswept ridgeline community with Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana/Festuca idahoensis habitat type. Associated with Sitanion hystrix, Leptodactyon pungens, Achillea millefolium. Common. Substrate - metamorphic and granitics both occur on summit ridge.
