    Small hill of loose pumice soil. Leeward (E-facing) slopes slightly more mesic. I n dry sagebrush scrub. With Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Cercocarpus ledifolius, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus. Common stands.

    Abundant cones on ground. The only species of pine here. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
