On gentle north-facing slope. With Artemisia, Juniperus, Purshia and Ericameria. In gravelly granitic soil.

Description
Short-lived, mostly monocarpic perennials; all leaves minutely dendritic-pubescent, the cauline leaves auriculate; upper stems and rachises nearly glabrous when mature; petals pale lavender, to 8 mm long; pollen irregular, formed in dyads; ovaries ± pubescent but mature fruits glabrescent; fruiting pedicels pubescent and abruptly reflexed; seeds uniseriate. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower, Fruit.
