Description
Solitary palm. Stem to 6m tall, dbh 20cm, near the crown to 15cm, pale brown basally, grey-green distally; internodes 20cm, scars pale brown. Crownshaft well developed, ca. 120cm long, greygreen, covered in white wax and caducous red brown scales. Leaves ca. 6 in the crown, ca. 4m long; petiole ca. 10cm only; leaflets 96 on each side of the rachis, irregularly arranged, plumose, but regular near the tip and the very base. Inflorescence infrafoliar, ca. 50cm long with a spread of ca. 60cm; prophyll persistent; penduncular bract not persistent; penduncle 25cm, branching to 2 orders; rachillae stiff, green, pitted. Immature fruit green; endosperm homgeneous. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
