Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the geographic midpoint of the unnamed road which connects the city of San Carlos de Rio Negro (synonymous with San Carlos) to the region of Solano in Mun. Río Negro, Amazonas, Venezuela. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the unnamed road which connects the two sites. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the location where the road begins (near the approximate geographic center of the city of San Carlos de Rio Negro) to the location where the road meets the approximate geographic center of the region of Solano, then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of the road. Measured to approximately this halved distance from one extreme of the road segment toward the center; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates. Input coordinates, linear extent (6429.64 m), and measurement error (0.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
