    Montane oak forest. Quercus seemannii, Q. copeyensis, Q. rapurahuensis. Gregarious to scattered. On soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 5-8.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, rugulose-wrinkled when young, tomentose to matted subtomentose, dark brown (7F5) to dark cinnamon brown (no good match), with very slight projecting sterile margin when young. Flesh pinkish brown under pellis, white otherwise, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes and pores yellow when young, dull yellow with age, unchanging when bruised. Stipe 4-7 cm long, 8-25 mm broad, subclavate to equal with a pinched base, dry, heavily pruinose to baarely subscabrous, bright yellow at apex with some pink flush inmid stipe, pale olive below, +/- pale olive overall with age, some yellow and white at the base interior solid, white, unchanging.
