Benton Crossing Rd., appx. 2.5km W of Moran Spring. With
windmill and water troughs. (Banner Ridge quad: 37° 39.004'N,
118° 36.96W; T3S R30E S36, NW/4 of NE/4). Alt.:
2230m/7314ft.
Heavily grazed and degraded flat roadside pullout on decomposed
granitic soil with abundant sheep pellets. Surrounding areas of
open Pinus monophylla woodland and Artemisia tridentata scrub.
With Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus,
Descurainia paradisa, D. sophia, Amsinckia menziesii, Lepidium
perfoliatum, Mentzellia, Chenopodium, Monolepis.
Abundant weed on disturbed areas. Flws yellow.
