Ecuador. Esmeraldas. Quinindé (Canton). The Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve, Bilsa Bioloical Station. Mache mountains, 35 km W of Quinindé. Collected between the Dogala community and Yomar Andrade's house.

Premontane wet forest.

Description
Tree, 12 m tall. Leaves terminally clustered on thick branches. Leaves ca. 1.5 m long and 50 cm wide. Flowers with 4 fleshy, yellow, reflexed petals. Inflorescencea racembe to 30 cm long. Flowers fragrant - smell line pattex (glue) or old bananas. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
