GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: Big Sand Flat; along Hwy 120,
near turnoff to Crooked Meadows (FS. Rd. IS 17). (Crestview
quad: 37° 51.863’N, 118° 54.354'W; T1S R28E S16, NW/4 of
NW/4). Alt.: 2392m/7845ft.
Broad sand flat of coarse pumice soil, bordered by Pinusjeffryi
forest on S, Atremesia tridentata scrub on N, with few shrubs on
flat. With Calyptridium umbellatum, Lupinus duranii,
Chrysothamnus parryi, Gayophytum diffusum, Elymus
elymoides, Mimulus mephiticus, Achnatherum occidentalis.
Occasional but widespread across flat.
