  • Habitat

    Windswept ridge-like peak of soft pumice gravelly soil, white rhyolitic outcrops, and occasional obsidian vent plugs. Ridgetop with Pinus flexilis, Cercocarpus ledifolius and small Holodiscus microphyllus. Dry east-facing leeward slopes with Calyptridium umbellatum, Leptodactylon pungens, Chrysothamnus parryi, Ericameria suffruticosa. Occasional, widely scattered individuals.
