Habitat
Vast area of sandy swampy coastal plain covered with virgin "restinga" forest, the "Enseada de Caraguatatuba". Trees mostly indaiá palms 12 m tall, ground with hummocks 1/2-1 m tall divided by channels containing a few cm deep water. Ground deep shaded with some sun flecks. Inside forest. Soil covered with thick humus & duff layer.

Fern on hummocks of dull brown clayey silt with humus. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
