United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: "Wilfred Peak"; south end of the Glass Mountain Ridge, adjacent to and north of Wilfred Canyon. (Watterson Canyon quad.).

Habitat
Windswept ridge-like peak of soft pumice gravelly soil, white rhyolitic outcrops, and occasional obsidian vent plugs. Ridgetop with Pinus flexilis, Cercocarpus ledifolius and small Holodiscus microphyllus. Dry east-facing leeward slopes with Calyptridium umbellatum, Leptodactylon pungens, Chrysothamnus parryi, Ericameria suffruticosa. Common but widely scattered throughout area.
