    United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: Ford Spring: South-facing slopes appx. 1/4 mile southeast of end of road, overlooking north end of Long Valley. (Dexter Canyon quad.).

  • Habitat

    Steep south-facing slopes leading down to Long Valley. Burnt and grazed areas infested with Bromus tectorum, with recovering Artemisia tridentata/ Purshia tridentata scrub. With Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ribes cereum, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus, Eriogonum umbellatum, Hesperostipa comata, Ceanthus velutinus, and common annuals including Mentzelia congesta, Phacelia bicolor, Layia glandulosa. Uncommon on granitic outcrops. Soft pumice soil with basaltic outcrops and occasional granitic outcrops.
