    Plants perennial from slender rhizomes; leaves glabrous & glaucous, mostly basal; flowers racemose, bisexual but stamens early deciduous; sepals 4, fugacious; staminal filaments filiform; fruiting pedicels recurved; pistils usually 5 per flower, maturing to form sessile, glabrous, vertically-ribbed achenes to 2.5 mm long. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
