    Crevices and residual soil 35°NE-sloping on granite. With Artemisia, Chrysothamnus, Linanthus, Symphoricarpos, Ribes, Pinus, Ephedra. Sporadically common on weathered granite in canyons, heavy natural grazing evident.

    Perennial grasslike clumps to 3 dm, petals pinkish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
