Description
Pileus 3.5-10 cm broad, convex to plano convex, viscid when wet, copper red (7C8) (a deep orange), subtomentose to matted, with conspicuous sterile flap. Flesh white, changing to fuscous when exposed. Tubes and pores smoky gray when young, soon 4A2, changing fuscous when bruised. Stipe 12-20 cm long, 10-20 mm broad, broader downward, white, dry, densely black scabrous to apex, finely so at first, densely so with age; interior as in pileus, greenish blue in base. Young pilei bruise greenish black!!. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
