United States of America. California. Mono Co. Glass Mountain Region: West of Banner Springs. Along ranch road appx. 400m west of Benton Crossing Road. (2.4km south of Wildrose Summit), across from Banner Springs windmill.

Habitat
Recently grazed area at intersection of ranch roads. Open Pinus monophylla woodland with sagebrush scrub including Grayia spinosa, Ephedra viridis, Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Hesperostipa comata, Phacelia bicolor, Cryptantha, Chenopodium. Occasional uneaten individuals. Ashy pumice soil dissected by cowtracks, whtie pumice sand hills.
