Flattish hilltop of soft pumice gravel. Open Artemisia tridentata scrub surrounded by Pinus jeffryi woodland. With Purshia tridentata, Eriogonum umbellatum, Achnatherum hymenoides, Elymus, Koeleria. Common in openings of scrub.
