  • Description

    Pileus 5-8 cm broad, convex with a depressed disc, dry on disc, subviscid at margin, a pale violet brown to reddish brown (9-10D-E5) toward margin, ochraceous to brownish orange on the disc, matted tomentose, sometimes the tomentum aggregated to form a subalveolate-ridged appearance. Flesh white, changing to lavender when exposed, exuding a white latex, with mild odor and taste. Lamellae adnate, close, yellowish white to orange white (4,5A2), with even edges, with some lamellulae exuding a white latex, staining lavender (15, 16C-D6,5). Stipe 3-5 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal, dry, matted subtomentose, scrobiculate, white, with scrobiculae a pale yellowish white to orange white; interior white, pithy, staining lavender. Phenology of specimen: basidiomata.
