  • Description

    Tree. Young roots orange yellow, 5-10mm diameter, exposed at base of tree, tips emerging up to 1.5m from base of tree. Bark red/brown. Distinctive raised ridges on petiole, going right along rachis. Ridges have soft spines 3-4cm long. Leaflets irregularly held with respect to horizontal axis of leaf. Longest leaf 120cm diameter. Fruits hard, red/brown, 10-12cm diameter, tortoiseshell colored scaly appearance.
