Habitat
Open forest on steeply hilly terrain. Either still dominated by arborescent bamboo (Guadua) or regenerating from a bamboo die-back that began two years ago. Rare.

Description
Tree. Tree 35m x 51cm, trunk angular, small low plank buttresses. Outer bark brown, fissured shed in large thin plates, relatively thick, inner bark beige, brittle. Fruits slightly reniform, immature, 5 cm long. On terrace. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
